SFC christopher koenig

Sergeant First Class Chris Koenig joined the 36th Infantry Division Band in April 2008. He currently serves as Platoon Sergeant, Marching Band NCOIC, and Team Leader of the Heart of Texas Brass. His previous roles include Trumpet Section Leader, Enlisted Conductor, and Music Library Assistant. SFC Koenig is a graduate of the Warrior Leader Course, Advanced Leader Course (Peer Mentorship Award), and Senior Leader Course (Commandant’s List), and is a Level I Master Resilience Trainer. He has conducted the Lone Star Concert Band, performed as a trumpet soloist on multiple occasions, and was honored with the Finley R. Hamilton Outstanding Military Musician Award in 2014.

In his civilian career, SFC Koenig is a middle school band director and an active leader in Manor ISD and the Texas Music Educators Association. He and his wife, Jennifer—also a fine arts educator—live in Round Rock with their musically gifted daughters, Lorelai and Cora.
