SPC Hendrix Nunez
SPC Hendrix Nunez is a Horn player in the 36th Infantry Division Band, where he has demonstrated leadership as a former Horn Section Leader. Enlisting in 2020, he has participated in numerous events, including the 80th Anniversary Liberation ceremonies in France, annual training, parades, and various musical performances. He is also a member of the Heart of Texas Brass Chamber Ensemble and performs with Sugar Land Winds, a community band that recently received the Sudler Silver Scroll from the John Philip Sousa Foundation.
In addition to his primary role as a musician, SPC Nunez serves as Public Affairs Personnel, contributing to the unit’s communications and outreach efforts.
A 2024 graduate of East Texas A&M University, SPC Nunez earned a Bachelor's degree in Music Education. As a civilian, he works as a band director for students in grades 5–12, teaching all instruments and inspiring young musicians to find joy in music.
SPC Nunez is an active member of several professional music organizations, including the Servant Leadership Association for Music, the International Horn Society, Young Band Directors of Texas, Texas Music Educators Association, and the Association of Texas Small School Bands. He is committed to advancing in rank, furthering his education, and gaining expertise in instrument repair and project management.
Outside of his military and civilian roles, SPC Nunez enjoys playing video games, reading leadership books, watching movies, and spending time with friends and family.
