SGT Cory Sales

Cory Sales, a San Antonio native, is an active performer, educator, and student. Cory is a percussion section leader with the award-winning 36th Infantry Division Band. Cory has been affiliated with the San Antonio Wind Symphony, Brazosport Symphony Orchestra, San Antonio Brass Band, Symphony Viva, and was an artist at the Round Top Festival in 2015. He continues to strive towards excellence by performing in the San Antonio and Austin areas.  As an educator, Cory previously worked as a Percussion Instructor for the John Stevens High School, Pease Middle School, and Vale Middle School band in San Antonio, TX from 2017-2023. He is currently the percussion director for Southwest High School since 2024. While serving in Iraq, Cory was awarded the Army Commendation Medal and the Army Achievement Medal. Currently, Cory has graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio, obtaining his Bachelor of Music in Education and a Minor in Jazz. Cory’s influences throughout his education include Mr. Michael Mixtacki, Dr. Graeme Francis, Mrs. Sherry Rubins, Mr. Charles Fricker, and Mr. Jeff Yates. Cory has performed in a couple of musicals to include; Mary Poppins at the San Antonio Public Theater, Bring It On with Stevens High School Theater, Tuck Everlasting, Bright Star, and Wizard of Oz  with Marble Falls High School Theater.
