SPC Joshua Simas

Specialist Joshua Simas is a Saxophone player in the 36th ID Band. He was born in Newport Beach, California, and was raised in Houston, Texas. SPC Simas enlisted in the Army National Guard in October of 2020 and attended Basic Combat Training at Ft Jackson in the summer of 2021. Directly after BCT, SPC Simas attended the Army School of Music in Little Creek, Virginia, where he graduated on the Commandant's List as the youngest soldier by 12 years. Now, SPC Simas is a member of the 36 ID Band, where he plays Bari/ Alto Sax in the Arrowhead Brass Band, and Alto Sax in the concert band. SPC Simas spends time working with the training team, where he helps coordinate and organize different events that the band participates in, such as ACFTs and unit height/weight. For education, SPC Simas is currently pursuing a degree in Business Management with a focus in administration at Texas State University.
